Unlock yourself in Lockdown

It has been exactly 17 days since total lockdown was implemented in India. 17 days stuck within 3 rooms and there are loads of memes how our travel map has changed from state/country borders to the walls of our living and bedrooms. But since we are the much privileged lot, we “survive”.
While other countrymen struggle for food and shelter and thoughts on how to make ends meet, we “survive” and limit our “struggle” on how to effectively use our time.
So here it comes. A Honumans guide on how we are spending our times back at home while nudging along with our “work from home” luxury.

Bring out that Picasso in you or the kiddo

The striking thing I discovered that many of us had that Picasso inside us but tucked away in a far corner in the want of other worldly pleasures. So here are some things we did try out.
It’s said that engaging yourself into coloring complex Mandala Art helps to calm us and we do vouch for that! Drawing some sketches or coloring with our kids is another fun time we had.

Turning the pages… after long time

It’s almost as-if in the hullabaloo of daily chores, the joy of reading a book was lost. But what’s lost was regained in the lockdown.
I read “The Anarchy” by William Dalrymple and as much the subject interested me, it was just the pleasure of reading a book before going off to sleep. Can’t do a review of a book, so to say but with each page of the book, one question came up in my mind – “What If the other choice was made”. But that’s survival. Must read.
Next in line is a collection of short stories by a famous Bengali blogger – Tanmay Mukherjee called “বং পেন আরো ৭৫.

Chill and Netflix or Amazon?

So I have watched 5 web series/singles in this period and here is my one-liner, no spoiler review for you.

Asur (Voot) – mythology meeting murder but messing up in the end. Watch it for Arshad Warsi’s acting.

Special Ops (Hotstar) – Spy thriller with the return of the SWAG man – Kay Kay Menon!

Money Heist S4 (Netflix) – It’s time they tie up the ends.

Panchayat (Amazon Prime) – undoubtedly the best of this year with one word stuck in my mind – “Simplicity”

Amit Tandon: Family Tandoncies (Netflix) – a refreshing standup comedy show sans political or body shaming or adult jokes.

Cook as you like

In our modern Indian homes, most cases we do have a cook and during this lockdown, when no one is there, then the home warriors need to pick up the pot and pans and cook a storm! Our MasterChef Honuman – Anirban was craving for some sweets and he went ahead and prepared home-made Besan Ka Laddu.
And did I miss saying about the other Honuman, Anwesha, preparing delcious Pav Bhaji?
The recipe for this will come up separately soon in our blog but till then, enjoy the view and salivate as much! 😉

So what’s your deal?

Write to us in comments here or in FB or Insta about how are you going about your life in Lockdown.
Before signing off, I will leave you with a sketch made by our Wise Honuman – Sebastian.
What we want you to feel for others, irrespective of class, creed, race, is this. I call this…

Together in the times of Corona
